1. General Safety Tips

Trust your instincts. If a deal feels too good to be true, it probably is. Always communicate through the Swaply chat — our messages are moderated for your safety. Never share personal information (phone number, address, bank details) until you are confident in the other party. Check the user's profile, rating, and completed swaps before agreeing to an exchange.

2. Meeting in Person

Always meet in a public, well-lit place (cafés, shopping centers, police station lobbies). Bring a friend if possible. Meet during daylight hours. Tell someone you trust where you are going and when. Inspect the item carefully before confirming the swap. Use the in-app QR confirmation to finalize the exchange.

3. Shipping Safely

Use tracked shipping services only. Take photos of the item and packaging before sending. Keep shipping receipts and tracking numbers. Do not mark a swap as complete until you have received and inspected the item. If using courier services, ensure both parties agree on who pays shipping costs before sending.

4. Recognizing Scams

Be wary of users who: pressure you to complete swaps quickly, ask to communicate outside Swaply, offer items of unusually high value for common items, refuse to meet in person or use tracked shipping, ask for money or gift cards as part of the swap. Report suspicious behavior immediately using the report button on the user's profile.

5. Reporting Issues

Use the Report button on any user profile or item listing to flag suspicious content. Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours. You can also block users to prevent further contact. For urgent safety concerns, contact your local authorities first, then notify us at safety@swaply.app.

6. Contact

For safety questions or to report an incident, contact safety@swaply.app. For urgent situations, always contact your local emergency services first.
